On Wednesday, three of our Year Six children led a whole school assembly about our chickens. They told us about how to look after them, what they eat and their different personalities. They surprised us all by bringing Lucky into the assembly which delighted a hall full of silent children. Each class is responsible for looking after the chickens on a weekly basis. They collect the eggs and decide what to do with them. Some classes have donated them to the kitchen, some have used them for cooking and some have sold them in the playground on a Friday.
Over the coming weeks, we hope that other children in Year Six will be leading assemblies to tell the rest of the school how they are taking on responsibility both in and out of school.
